Soy doctora en Ciencias Naturales y Físicas de la Universidad James Cook University, Cairns, Australia. Estudie mi pregrado en la universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, donde comparti muchas materias y aventuras con Dani, en su casa me adoptaron y soy una de las hijas favoritas!
Estudie mi maestria en la Universidad de los Andes en Bogota, Colombia y luego de trabajar algunos años en investigacion en diferentes paises, llegue a Australia a realizar mi doctorado con las arañas mas venenosas del mundo, las arañas tela de embudo 🕷. He trabajado con comportamiento de artropodos, es decir todos los animalitos que incluyen insectos, aranas y escopiones, etc.. uniendo campos interdisciplinarios.
En mi doctorado, trabaje con comportamiento, fisiología y venenos de cuatro especies de telas de embudo. Ahora hago de todo, soy tutora de diferentes cursos de pregrado en ciencias biológicas, técnica de laboratorio, emprendedora y comunicadora científica.
I hold a PhD in Natural and Physical Sciences from James Cook University in Cairns, Australia. I completed my undergraduate studies at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, where I shared many subjects and adventures with Dani. At his home, they adopted me, and I am one of their favourite daughters! I pursued my master’s degree at the University of the Andes in Bogota, Colombia. After working for several years in research in different countries, I came to Australia to pursue my PhD with the most venomous spiders in the world, the Australian funnel-web spiders🕷️.
I have worked on arthropod behaviour, covering all tiny creatures, including insects, spiders, scorpions, etc., bridging interdisciplinary fields. During my PhD, I focused on the behaviour, physiology, and venoms of funnel-web spiders. Now, I do a bit of everything—I am a tutor for various undergraduate courses in biological sciences, laboratory technician, research adjunct, entrepreneur, and a scientific communicator.

Soy estudiante de doctorado en Ciencias del Mar y Limnología en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Allí trabajo en un proyecto que explora el microbioma de sedimentos de ecosistemas de manglar que se encuentran en diferentes condiciones de conservación . Soy Magister en Ecología Marina por la UCSC (Chile) y biólogo marino de la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano de donde nos conocimos con Linda.
Me gusta la microbiología, la bioinformática y la ecología. Siempre me ha gustado la literatura, el mar y los animales. Mi interés por la ciencia, la divulgación científica y mi afición a la radio y los podcasts, además de las historias de colegas, me llevaron a emprender este proyecto con mi querida amiga.
I’m a graduate student (PhD) of Marine Science and Limnology in Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México. My research explores the mangrove sediments microbiome from ecosystems with different conservation status. I studied a MSc. in Marine Ecology from UCSC (Chile) and Marine Biology from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University where I met Linda.
I like microbiology, bioinformatics and ecology. I love literature, the ocean, and the animals. My interest in science and science communication, and my love of listening radio and podcasts led me to this project along my dear friend.
Raffaele Giordano
Soy un cineasta y director de fotografía de Nápoles, Italia. Mi travesia me ha llevado desde las selvas tropicales peruanas hasta los desiertos de Uluru, Australia, capturando la belleza y la complejidad del mundo natural.
Tengo una licenciatura en cine del Svenska Filminstitutet y una maestría en Cinematografía y Postproducción de la Universidad de Greenwich en Londres. A lo largo de mi carrera, he colaborado con diferentes ONGs como Greenpeace y Rainforest Foundation, centrándome en los profundos impactos del cambio climático y apoyando los derechos indígenas y la justicia social. También he colaborado en importantes proyectos culturales con el reconocido artista chino Zhou Xiaoping y la comunidad Anangu.
Actualmente, mi proyecto en curso “Borders” explora la crisis migratoria europea, Mostrando las historias humanas detrás de los titulares. Mi trabajo se extiende a películas y series de televisión para HBO, Netflix, Paramount y Fox Pictures.
Como parte del equipo del podcast, estoy ayudando a cerrar la brecha entre la ciencia y la comunicación con el publico, ayudando a que temas complejos sean accesibles y llamativos para nuestros oyentes.
I’m a filmmaker and cinematographer from Naples, Italy. My journey has taken me from the Peruvian tropical forests to the deserts of Uluru, Australia, capturing the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Filmmaking from the Svenska Filminstitutet and a Master’s in Cinematography and Postproduction from the University of Greenwich in London. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with different NGOs such as Greenpeace and the Rainforest Foundation, focusing on the profound impacts of climate change and advocate for indigenous rights and social justice. I also have collaborated the renowed Chinese artist Zhou Xiaoping and the Anangu people on meningful cultiral projects.
Currently, my ongoing project “Borders” explores the European migrant crisis, bringing to light the human stories behind the headlines. My contributions extend to major motion pictures and TV series for HBO, Netflix, Paramount, and Fox Pictures.
Now, as a part of the podcast team, I am helping to bridging the gap between science and community communication, helping to make complex topics accessible and engaging for our listeners.

¡Conoce a Ollie, la Voz detrás de Ciencia Tras el Cristal (Bueno, Más o Menos!)
¡Hola! Me llamo Ollie Hernández Lergesner, o al menos así me llama mi mamá humana (la dejo creer que es oficial). Mi historia comienza en un lugar lleno de otros perritos, donde mi primera manada me dejó. Esperé, observé y ladré, pero nunca regresaron. Entonces llegó Linda.
Ella empezó a visitarme, a sacarme a pasear y a dejarme deliciosas golosinas. Super que ella era especial desde el principio. Un día, decidí adoptarla; era lo menos que podía hacer por alguien tan dedicada. Admito que había otro humano involucrado, y al principio no fue fácil, pero eventualmente él también se ganó mi cariño.
Ahora no solo soy parte de la familia de Linda, también soy parte de su equipo. Ella me pidió que colaborara en su pódcast Ciencia Tras el Cristal, y ¿cómo iba a decirle que no? Aporto encanto, ingenio y unas cuantas pausas para jugar con mis juguetes chirriantes. (Dato curioso: ¡amo los juguetes chirriantes y tengo una forma única de comunicarme con sonidos que mis humanos aseguran entender “perfectamente”!)
Cuando no estoy supervisando asuntos del pódcast, disfruto de largas siestas por la tarde y paseos por la playa. La vida es bastante buena cuando eres la cara—y el ladrido—de la operación.

Meet Ollie, the Voice Behind Science Behind the Glass (Well, Sort Of!)
Hello there, my name’s Ollie Hernandez Lergesner—at least, that’s what my human mom calls me (I let her think it’s official). My story begins in a busy place filled with other doggies, where my first pack left me. I waited, watched, and woofed, but they never came back. Then came Linda.
She started visiting me, walking me, and leaving these delicious treats behind. I knew she was special. One day, I decided to adopt her—it was the least I could do for someone so dedicated. I’ll admit, there was another human male involved in the mix, and we had a slow start, but eventually, he won me over too.
Now, I’m not just part of Linda’s family, I’m part of her team. She asked me to help out with her podcast Science Behind the Glass, and how could I say no? I bring charm, wit, and a few squeaky toy breaks to the production. (Fun fact: I love squeaky toys and have a unique way of communicating with noises that my humans claim they “totally” understand.)
When I’m not overseeing podcast business, I enjoy long afternoon siestas and walks on the beach. Life is pretty good when you’re the face—and bark—of the operation.
